Translation
Crossing a language.
Translation is not the moving of a load from one language into another. It is finding a path through a different landscape that must arrive at the same place. It is an understanding of a human soul in a text — a Slovenian soul, an English soul, the soul of a writer long gone. It is an attempt to word what cannot be fully worded, and to carry across the thing most easily lost on the way.
I translate texts in which the weight of expression matters at least a little. For everything else, there are language models.
